Business recovery is the return to operations following an incident, crisis, disaster, or significant event.

Business Recovery Plan

The incident response plan, which you developed in the previous module, is a plan to be actioned directly following an incident or event and should be your immediate focus at that point in time. The business recovery plan is to be actioned over a longer period and is concerned with returning to your business to pre-incident operations.

The business recovery plan expands on the business impact analysis, completed in module 3, and there are four key elements to the recovery process: strategies, resources, recovery time objective (RTO) and people.
